The extraordinary journey of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, which began in 1963 with just 20 regimental schools, has transformed into a vast network of 1,289 Kendriya Vidyalayas, illuminating the nation with the light of exceptional education.

I am delighted to share this message as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Bhopal Region, under the guidance of KVS (HQ) New Delhi, continues to strive towards setting the highest standards of excellence in the field of national education. In a culturally diverse nation like India, education is not merely a medium of knowledge but also a vehicle for social harmony, moral values, and a strong sense of duty towards the nation. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan was established by the Government of India in 1963 with the objective of providing quality, consistent, and uninterrupted education to the children of defence personnel, paramilitary forces, central government employees, and other transferable staff. Today, KVS has evolved into a powerful educational network not only in India but also abroad, where lakhs of students are being nurtured by thousands of teachers who are committed to imparting knowledge, values, and life skills. India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020) calls for a transformational shift in the educational system. It focuses not only on curriculum and examination reforms but emphasizes inclusive, multidisciplinary, and student-centric learning. In alignment with the guiding principles of NEP 2020, KVS has initiated several key reforms, such as:
